Kay Cooper knows all the ins and outs of Tri-Star Trust. She has an in-depth understanding of what drives Tri-Star’s success, and a keen enthusiasm for staying up to date on auditing industry trends and regulatory compliance. Not only does she give significant consideration to quality (which inspires others to strive to meet high expectations) she also encourages employees to the best of their abilities by giving them the tools necessary to make tasks seamless. Kay has 35+ years’ experience in banking and trust, with a focus of 20 years in trust operations. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on management from Saginaw Valley State University, is a Certified Retirement Services Professional of the Institute of Certified Bankers, and is a graduate of both the Cannon Employee Benefits School and the 1000 Leaders Initiative. She is a member of both the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and the Institute of Certified Bankers. She mentors for the READ Association of Saginaw County. She also participated in Pulse3 Run for Your Heart and volunteers for Habitat for Humanity.

Provide excellent service to clients by offering accurate and easily accessible information.

What do you love most about working at Tri-Star?

Of course I love our clients, but with the influx of new blood at Tri-Star, I enjoy mentoring all the new employees and watching them grow.

What do you enjoy doing in your personal time?

Spending time with my twin grandsons and the rest of my family, too! As well as camping, reading, walking, and when we aren’t in the middle of a pandemic- going to country concerts!

What are your top three bucket list items?

  1. Visit Alaska and Hawaii
  2. Visit all National Parks
  3. See Elton John – when it is safe to do so!
